LKY's wish or not (this shouldn't matter), if we have memorials to Lim
Bo Seng, Tan Kim Seng, Sun Yat Sen and even a Dalhousie, no reason to
dismiss preserving 38 Oxley Road. at the same time, LKY's, and now his
two younger children's, concerns are objectively far-fetched, as Cherian
notes: "I wonder if we’re getting carried away with the fate of the
house. Yes, 38 Oxley Road is an iconic site. But we need a sense of
proportion. It is not what Jerusalem is to People of the Book."
